Fanfare competition
BE A COMPOSER: Calling all “Budding Beethovens” and “Creative Coplands”
We are running a “Fantastic Fanfares” composing competition for young people aged 14-18.
To enter you should compose a fanfare lasting between 20 to 30 seconds and submit a written score - not necessarily in traditional notation. Please also make an initial recording – this can be basic and could be played on a keyboard. We will help the winner/s with the final recording.
The fanfares will be judged by leading members of Proms at St Jude’s, including the CEO and Chairman. The winning fanfare/s will introduce concerts in this year’s festival in late June 2018 and the winning composer/s will be invited to be there to hear their work played live by the Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra on our Last Night.
There will be a supporting workshop with Caroline Welsh on Saturday 21 April, 10.30-12.30 at Wren Academy, N12 9HB.
